Go for the beer. The food is typical of any fern bar. There are very few healthy dishes -- everything is either deep-fried or covered in cream sauce.
But the beer is worth the trip. Ask what's on the hand-pulled taps -- the brewmaster makes some very interesting small-batch stuff. The IPA is very good, as is the brown.

I really love this restaurant & go there all the time. It's one of the best places to go in Jacksonville in my opinion. Definately try the Asiago Artichoke & Crab Dip as an appetizer. As for entrees the Hazelnut encrusted chicken, Grouper Oscar, Smokey Mountain Pasta & Shrimp, or Bistro Filet with Crab Stuffed Shrimp are some of my favourites. There are also some fantastic salads to choose from and I've had some out of this world specials there too. The fish are always fresh. I could go on and on. The beers are all made right there in house. They offer a sampler of all of their beers or you can buy by the glass or pitcher. They have a new Beer Garden patio area where there is live entertainment, or you can dine inside. The service is great!I strongly suggest checking this place out!

We have been on a business trip to Jacksonville and were invited from our lokal colleges to the Seven Brigdes. I like German beers and here I found the same good taste and quality as in Germany. Really great beers and a big choice of them. The food was also very good and well dimensioned. A great place to spend an evening.

This place almost ruined our evening.
First, I waited forever for my beer, only to see my waitress cleaning her section while I stil had not received my beer.
Then, our meal took 30 minutes to arrive even though the restaurant was empty.
When it did finally arrive, the garnish looked like it had been sitting out for hours. The burger was mediocre. I paid $10 for this?!?
Here's the kicker: I already mentioned the wait for this weak $10 burger, but the fries didn't even come at the same time, as the waitress mentioned to me matter-of-factly. Are they growing the potatoes back there? The coup-de-grace was that when they finally arrived the fries were greasy and undercooked.
I absoutely hate myself for not sending the whole thing back right then and there!
The final insult occurred when I pulled the manager aside to complain and the guy had no desire whatsover to make the situation better. He said he would talk to the kitchen, but how is that supposed to make me feel better? A smarter thing to do would have been to offer me some sort of incentive for a return visit, e.g. voucher, coupon, etc. Since none came, I will never, ever go to this crappy place again.
I highly recommend you doing the same, unless your intention is to just go there to drink beer. Just standby for extremely crappy service. Go somewhere else instead!

This is a great microbrewery and a great restaurant. The beer was fresh and the dinner servings are huge. Even though it was very busy the staff was able to deliver with good service. Try a beer sampler and the pork chops. If you are in the southside area it is worth checking out.

We stopped in Jacksonville on our way down to Disney and found this place through Pubcrawler. The food was terrific and the service was excellent. My children had pizzas, which were all terrific. My wife and I had the seafood fettucini cooked in a key lime cream sauce that was unbelievably good! As for the beer, I had the Magnolia Brown Ale. It has a nice smooth flavor, but is a bit lacking in the finish. Still, not a bad brew. About the only negative I can offer is after the meal, I wanted to buy a tee shirt. The only sizes they had were Small and Medium! Most of the beer drinkers I know are not small or medium - rather XL or XXL!!! Definitely worth a stop if you're travelling the I-95 corridor south of Jacksonville.

Not a bad place overall. I got to the restaurant around 10:15 approx. to discover that the dining room was closed, so I sat at a bar table. This wouldn't be a problem except, I had a ten year old with me, no big whoop, they knew she wasn't drinking. The beer was pretty good, although I thought the bar closed a little early, BEING THAT IT WAS A BAR. After we ate, it was fast becoming closing time. Anyway, go on and give this place a try.

I liked the IPA. Good hop nose and a crisp taste. Not usually much for the corp places, but this was an exception.

More of less the same taste as the rest of the offerings in Jax, the pale ale was to hoppy and others were tasteless, go with the brown it seems to be the most in style. The place is your standard cookie cutter rest/bar, i'm told the food is good.

Steve and Sam do great behind the bar -- even with some "tricks". Too bad Sam is moving up north! The IPA is worth the visit, especially if your looking for some hops while on business. Great food by a kitchen that will customize without complaints.

Ate two meals here while around the corner on business--lunch was a very good blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich, which was amongst the best I've ever had. Dinner was a drunken ribeye that was quite tastily marinated the decent stout. As for the beers--with the exception of the IPA, which I found very crisp and clean--there was no beer to write home about. All-in-all, if you are in the area, it is worth stopping in for a quick sampler and a great meal.

Beer wise - nothing special. They were good and very drinkable only for a single visit. The food was very good however. Service left alot to be desired. Obviously if you are a regular or know someone you may get some attention. The staff really seemedto be disinterested. Stop by if your in the neighborhood, but don't go out of your way to visit.

Owned by Big River (of Rock Bottom fame; well maybe "fame" is questionable...) the beers were of the normal acceptable level. Nothing outstanding but nothing bad either.
